This group thrives on open, balanced participation. It’s a space where everyone should feel welcome to join in, contribute, and be heard. While we value thoughtful discussion on a wide range of topics, we ask that no one use the group as their personal platform or soapbox.
When one voice starts to dominate, especially with frequent posts on the same issue or highly divisive topics, it can discourage others from joining the conversation and shift the tone of the group away from community dialogue.
What we’re asking:
- Be mindful of how often you post or comment.
- Make room for a variety of topics and voices.
- Add to conversations in a way that invites others in.
- Avoid repeatedly posting on highly polarizing or controversial topics.
What’s not okay:
- Posting the same message or issue over and over, especially if it fills the feed.
- Using the group primarily to push a personal agenda or ideology.
- Posting multiple times a day in a way that crowds out other members.
- Tagging or messaging multiple people to draw attention to your viewpoint.
- Derailing unrelated threads to rehash the same issue.
- Posting content that is likely to inflame, divide, or provoke.
Examples of a violation:
- Posting 15 times in a day, all about one political concern.
- Posting daily about different but highly controversial topics.
- Starting a post about a community event, but repeatedly shifting the conversation to your own issue.
Examples of healthy participation:
- Sharing your perspective once, then listening and letting others weigh in.
- Joining a thread, contributing thoughtfully, and allowing space for other views.
We absolutely welcome meaningful discussion—even on complex or controversial issues—when it’s done with consideration for the group as a whole. But if there’s a topic you feel deserves ongoing, focused discussion, a dedicated group or forum might be a better outlet for that.
Repeated disregard for this guideline may result in a pause, suspension, or removal from the group. Let’s keep this a space where many voices can be heard.
